Destiny is not a matter of chance. It is a matter of choice; it is not to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved.

William Jennings Bryant

Willowdene Farm’s approach to rehabilitation is focused on releasing individuals to fulfil their potential and lead active, purposeful and rewarding lives without continuing their past substance mis-use.

By promoting personal responsibility, encouraging self-worth and establishing a firm work ethic, Willowdene Farm’s approach equips men to face their future with confidence and courage, establishing a solid platform from which a purposeful life can be built.

Part of the overall process of rehabilitation involves instilling a respect for the feelings of others, both on the part of those expressing their feelings and those receiving those expressions. This is vital in helping residents develop the skills that will enable them to form positive and constructive relationships as they move forward with their lives.

Willowdene Farm’s approach is also designed to promote independent living, equipping residents for life beyond their programme. With an emphasis on development, residents will combine a therapeutic process with regular work, training, and social development. A primary aim of this approach is to promote personal growth, with increased self awareness in areas such as behavioural outcomes, personal health, hygiene and diet, as well as increased self-confidence.
