We were born to unite with our fellow men, and to join in community with the human race
Charlotte Perkins Gilman
By exposing residents to a range of training and workplace opportunities, Willowdene Farm aims to build confidence and self-belief, equipping individuals to seize opportunities in the knowledge that they can do what they may previously been told they cannot, and opening a door to a future filled with hope and potential.
Willowdene Farm does not seek to push residents down a particular career path, preferring instead to offer a breadth of training and experience that is underpinned by usable and desirable skills that offer a range of career opportunities, especially in the areas of engineering, forestry and agriculture.
Willowdene Farm’s approach to training is centred on the individual requirements of each resident. With many years of experience in delivering training to those who have faced extreme barriers to learning, Willowdene Farm has developed a reputation for providing high quality training and facilitating high levels of achievement by its residents.
The training is now provided by Willowdene Training, a company that was launched by Wilowdene Farm to focus on the ongoing delivery and expansion of training opportunities for residents.
Using creative techniques, and drawing on expertise from industry and education, Willowdene Farm’s approach to training overcomes the barriers to learning that many residents have faced, and provides opportunities to apply newly acquired skills in a safe environment at a pace appropriate to the individual.
